Kosher slaughter is thought to be more strictly regulated than conventional slaughter, and the process is supposed to be less traumatic for animals. In reality, the animals raised, slaughtered, and sold as kosher meat endure many of the same abuses as animals who are raised and slaughtered conventionally.
