‘If This Is Kosher …’

Kosher slaughter is thought to be more strictly regulated than conventional slaughter, and the process is supposed to be less traumatic for animals. In reality, the animals raised, slaughtered, and sold as kosher meat endure many of the same abuses as animals who are raised and slaughtered conventionally. In this video, acclaimed author Jonathan Safran Foer is joined by Rabbis Irving ‘Yitz’ Greenberg and David Wolpe to discuss the abuse of animals within the kosher industry.
